ScotRail says all lines to and from Inverness closed 'due to gas leak'


"All lines to/from Inverness are currently closed, and we'll share more details as soon as we can."








In a post on Twitter/X at around 10.29am, the rail operator confirmed that all lines to and from the city were closed as a result.

It also confirmed that some replacement buses will be running for those who need to travel.

Network Rail Scotland meanwhile said in a Twitter/X post: "We're working with emergency services who are dealing with an incident involving a freight train at Inverness Depot. 

"All lines to/from Inverness are currently closed, and we'll share more details as soon as we can."

ScotRail said: “Due to a gas leak near the railway, all lines to/from Inverness are closed.”

The operator added that buses “are confirmed to run between Perth and Inverness” and that it has “arranged ticket acceptance on Citylink services between Inverness-Glasgow and Inverness-Edinburgh”
